Charlie Sheen: Is His Career in Hollywood Over?

Charlie Sheen is living proof that self destructive behavior in Hollywood is not reserved to the likes of young starlets like Lindsey Lohan and Miley Cyrus. With the recent announcement that he will be headed back to rehab, Sheen would seem to be single handedly responsible for the destruction of the financial successful television sitcom "Two and a Half Men." If the show, which is currently on suspension, is permanently shut down, the cost in lost revenues to both producer Warner Brothers and CBS would be in the hundreds of millions.
Besides his much publicized battles with substance abuse (cocaine and alcohol among them) and trysts with porn stars, Charlie Sheen's ongoing feud with show creator Chuck Lorne has also been at the center of the controversy. In recent interviews, Sheen has referred to Lorne as, "turd," "clown," and by his birth name of "Chaim Levine." The latter earning him a rash of criticism from the Anti-Defemation League." Even after the discontinuation of his hit show, Sheen has not let up on his criticism of CBS or the show's creator, stating that he feels underpaid at a mere $2 million per episode, and has demanded a 50% raise.
So with all that has been happening lately, is it over for the 45 year old actor in Hollywood? Well, not quite, not as long as America has a fascination with celebrity crash and burn stories, or a penchant for comeback stories. Along this vein, Sheen has told TMZ that he is in the midst of writing a "tell all" book which he hopes to pedal for at least $10 million.
While it may indeed be possible for this perennial Hollywood bad boy to publish a book in which he spills his guts over who has done what with him in Hollywood, acting jobs do not appear to be materializing for Sheen as he would like us to believe. For example, Charlie has recently mentioned that he has been offered a $5 million dollar per episode deal for a series on HBO, a rumor that the cable channel quickly denied. Beyond that there is the rumored appearance in a movie on the life of Tango sensation Carlos Gardel, and not much else.
Yet, while he is currently a toxic asset in Hollywood and his future career may someday consist of the type of cameo appearance he made in the movie "She Wants Me (2011)," Sheen seems to be taking it all in stride, and was recently reported to have been on vacation with adult film star Bree Olsen in the Bahamas.
